Board Member and Director of Operations
Dan is a transman who started transitioning in 2013 shortly after earning his BS in Molecular Biology at Montclair State University. He has previously taken on leadership roles in LGBTQ+ employee resource groups, championing diversity and inclusion in the workplace. As someone living with multiple marginalizations, Dan also understands the complex intersections of being Trans, a person of color, and living with a disability as an above the knee amputee. As such, the ongoing efforts and advocacy work he does through TEC and its community partners is specifically viewed through these lenses to ensure the impact is widespread, equitable and inclusive. Currently, he is pursuing his Masters in Information Technology and is excited to apply these skills and knowledge in furthering community connectedness and outreach.

The confidence they have found in gender transition has rippled out into all aspects of their life. They are passionate about building community and hope to help trans people connect in New Jersey.

Miriam Grace Onembo is a trans woman living in Morris County, NJ. She has been volunteering with TEC since 2025. Before beginning her transition in January 2025 she was a highly successful operations and creative director in the kitchen and bath design industry responsible for growing a foundering spinoff/startup into 8-figure success story. Since transitioning she was terminated from a (she kinda guessed) systemically transphobic company, subjected to denial-of-HRT in one of NJ’s “best” inpatient mental health facilities, and found a new spiritual purpose in mutual aid.
She brings her keen business acumen, indefatigable sense of justice, and the fortitude of solemn faith to our struggle. Personally she has always felt that her rigid, sometimes self-sacrificing, personal morality proscribed her from seeking individual success and greater fortune in life. She always felt like she didn’t know what to do because she didn’t know why she was supposed to do it. Now she knows why, because she knows what to do.
Miriam is terminally committed to TEC’s most precious of goals: purchasing not just one, but many residential properties across the state of New Jersey to serve as short-term and emergency housing for displaced members of our community. This is doubly true for as long as our trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming siblings are forced to flee their homes in other states to seek refuge in the loving arms of strangers. She will stop at nothing to ensure that TEC has the financial wherewithal to acquire, improve, manage, and maintain this asset portfolio with every crayon in her carton.
